A delicious grain-free alternative to traditional naan bread, this recipe uses cassava flour to create a soft and chewy texture. Perfect for pairing with your favorite vegan curries or enjoying on its own as a snack.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cassava flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup non-dairy yogurt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix cassava flour, baking powder, and salt
Add warm water and olive oil, and mix to form a dough
Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth
Cover and let the dough rest for 30 minutes
Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and roll each part into a ball
On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a thin oval shape
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat
Place the rolled out dough onto the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until lightly browned and cooked through
While cooking, mix minced garlic with non-dairy yogurt
Brush the cooked naan with garlic yogurt mixture and sprinkle with chopped cilantro before serving
